Last Week’s Happenings
Once there was Daddy Tomato, Momma Tomato, and Baby Tomato. They decided to go for a walk in the park one day. As they strolled along little Baby Tomato liked to watch the bugs and smell the flowers and time to time little Baby Tomato would lag behind his parents. As a parent does in that situation, Daddy Tomato would correct Baby to stay with them and not lag behind. But little Baby Tomato was all too curious and he kept falling back behind his parents. Finally, Daddy Tomato grew frustrated with little Baby Tomato and decided that it was time to correct his child. Daddy Tomato, in a stern voice, said to little Baby Tomato, “I’ve told you for the final time to stay with us. Believe me this will hurt me more than it does you.” Daddy Tomato started jumping up and down on Baby tomato. Once Daddy Tomato finished the punishment Daddy Tomato gave one last command for little Baby Tomato. He said, “I’ve told you enough times to not lag behind so, CATCH-UP!”
Get it? Catch up/Ketchup!!
Well here is last week’s happenings just to Ketchup.
Monday…
Great 24!! Have I mentioned before that this is the greatest show on TV? This is the only show that I know of that can continue to survive while killing main characters. Kiefer Sutherland thought his character should have been killed off in the first season if not at the end of the second. Here he is midway through the fifth season!!! He is living on borrowed time. But 24 wouldn’t be the same without Jack. This show is so good that I think it would survive without Jack.
Tuesday…
Christi won the Grand Prize at her school’s BINGO night. She was very frustrated all night in fact she came within 1 number from bingo-ing twice. Once she lost to Trey! That made her mad. Well I told her that she is getting all of the bad cards out of the way to get the right one for the Grand Prize. Sure enough it came down to 1 number and 5 kids won. They had a drawing for the big winner of the Karaoke machine that was the Grand Prize and sure enough, Christi won!!
Wednesday…
I went to Nowata so that Coach Walkingstick could give me some guidelines in losing weight and building muscle. Since I have to take steroids then I thought that I would benefit in working out. That guy is stout!! I am as I feared a sack of bones and fat. Pretty much that is all there is to me. My BMI… a whopping 49%. I stood in at 6’ and 273 pounds. (Update: The diet is going okay. I splurged and ate a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Not too bad considering I get 2200 calories a day, 1000 came from that burger with fries, ouch!)
Thursday…
Praise practice was uneventful. I am really getting comfortable with playing drums. Practice was fine.
Friday…
Trey was supposed to spend the night at a friend’s house for a birthday party but that never happened. Trey’s friend canceled the party because Trey’s friend didn’t mind the teacher all week and was warned several times. I am impressed that they followed through with such a threat! Trey ended up staying at RaNée’s. Christi stayed the night at her best friend’s house. So that night Dianne and I went out with Jeremiah, Amber, Rachel, and Clint to Chili’s. That was Jeremiah’s last night in the States for 2 weeks!! He is in London, “Lucky!” After dinner the Palmers went home so Jeremiah could finish packing then Rachel, Clint, and Dianne went bowling. I was the play-by-play guy to cheer them on. I am not going to put my feet in those shoes and I will not put my hands on those bowling balls! They’re DIRTY!! Clint tore it up on the last game. I think he got a 156!!! Like I’ve said, If I can change my golf score with my bowling score I would tour in both the PBA and PGA!!
Saturday…
It was a nice morning all to myself! The kids were at friends houses. Well Trey was at RaNée’s on Friday night then his best friend’s dad came and got Trey they went to a boy scout thing in Muskogee. Christi stayed the night with her best friend and then they went to a birthday party on Saturday. I spent most the morning sleeping in then I got up to work on my Bible study for the High School class. I watched it rain and hail when a big thunderstorm blew through. We needed the rain!!! I just wish it would have come over a 2 or 3 day period of steady soaking rain. I love rainy days!! I had all that time and I didn’t play xbox but for about 30 to 40 minutes!! All by myself and I didn’t play but that long!! I had a good day anyway. Oh I forgot to say that Dianne went shopping with her mother in Owasso Saturday morning through the afternoon so I was really by myself. Then Saturday night we went to dinner with Trey’s best friend and his family at Mazzio’s. Hey I did good! I had a sandwich and a salad.
Sunday…
A short weekend! I felt an hour shorted all weekend. Well that’s okay I left an hour early from work on Friday so I guess I came out even. Sunday School went well with the High School kids. Not a talkative bunch! I even bought them donuts. I didn’t eat any! We talked about Peter’s confession and the Transfiguration of Jesus (Matt 16 & 17). I talked to the kids about how the Catholic Church view’s Peter confession of the establishment of the Pope and how we as protestants view that as Peter’s confession as the revealing truth of who Jesus is and that Jesus is the cornerstone of the Church and not Peter. I asked them about the Transfiguration and what they would say about it if they had seen that take place. Why do we forget that Jesus is all powerful and there is nothing out of His control. We did not witness the Transfiguration but we have written testimony that it happened yet we forget all too often. We put Jesus in a little box and only take Him out when we feel like we need some Jesus Power. Yet it is Jesus that is transforming us to be more like Him, if we will abide in Him. If being the major part of that statement. Sunday night we went to see some of the high school girls play in a softball tournament. The girls won!! Only 2 of the 3 girls from the youth group played. It was a lot of fun but the kids stayed up way too long. They are going to bed early tonight.
Today…
Did I mention 24?
KETCHUP!!
