William Ralph Davis

William Ralph Davis, 84, retired service manager, 45 years for Truck Parts and Equipment, Inc., died Saturday, June 10, 2006. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Service will be Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at East Point Church of Christ. Interment will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Howard, KS. Ralph was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a crew chief on B-24's. Following his retirement he worked for D. & H. Trucking for many years. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, William Ira Davis and Christiana Elizabeth (Heisler) Davis, sister, Mary Elizabeth Hagins and brother, Samuel Ross Davis.

Survivors: wife, Jean (Alliston) Davis; son and daughter-in-law, David and Carolyn Davis of Bartlesville, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Ron Stumpff of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren RaNee Stumpff, Jay and Dianne Stumpff, great-grandchildren, Trey and Christiana Stumpff all of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, David Davis, of Cass Lake, MN and Erin and Laif Kern, of Wichita, KS and 2 step-grandsons; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Memorials to: Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 555 N. Woodlawn, Bldg. 1, S-113, Wichita, KS, 67208.

Grandpa Davis was a good man. The one thing I remember most is when Jay purposed to me at the Drillers game we had cake afterwards and he told me "welcome to the family. We will be glad to have you."
I only knew Granpa for 11years, but it's like I had known him alot longer than that. He will be really missed by alot of people.
