Long Night - Even Longer Morning

Posted at 9:10 in Family.

It was a very long night. I had night duty. I stayed up until 5AM this morning. He slept almost all night. He woke up around 3AM and we had a nice long talk. I had to call the nurses to get his pain meds every 3 hours. They didn't come quick nor did they keep to their schedule. I had to remind them each time. Trey has gone through 2 IV bags since yesterday but he is drinking very little fluids. His leg has had cramps all night and this morning. They are hurting him almost as bad as everything else!

Trey's mouth has swollen to the size of a baseball. It is hard for him to press his lips together to suck on straws so we are going back to the days when he was a baby and giving him a liquid diet through syringes with tubes attached to the end where the needle goes. He's taken some oral meds like that this morning which is better for him because he cannot come home until he's off the moriphine and is able to get out of bed.

Poor Little guy. Man this is swollen.

The doctor said that we are where we should be at this time. All is expected at this time. He said that we may need to spend another night tonight.

Trey is such a strong person and doesn't complain about any pain unless it really hurts. He has been crying in pain today. It is hard to watch him go through it. I wish I could take his place. I really miss his wonderful smile and his beautiful laugh.

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. You can leave comments on any article on the site and I will post them up here for Trey to read. It is easier than reading email for him. You will not see the post right away because I have to approve them. Otherwise I would have to have everyone sign in to view the site.

Oh by the way the little screamer from yesterday is back at it again today. And I never tossed any cookies. Whew!

Trey says hi to all and wishes he could see everyone.

Trey - you tough little man, you! We were all praying for you - I had 3 churches lift you up. We're still praying for you. We're sorry your dad is a sissy but that's ok. You, sir, are definitely NOT a sissy. If I come and see you, is there any particular thing you want me to bring? Remember, they won't let me bring my dogs though because they're not trained to work in hospitals.

Trey - you are in our thoughts and prayers. I know it's tough right now - but it will get better each day. We look forward to have you home!
