Today we toured Banff National Park in Alberta Canada. It was a beautiful day with temps in the low 20's/upper teens. No it was not cold that was Celsius not Fahrenheit. The temps in Fahrenheit was about 65 to 72 degrees. Beautiful!! We headed out of Calgary around 2:30 or so to head to the mountains. We decided to take the scenic rout to Lake Louise from Banff. First thing we encountered was a mountain sheep of some sort. We saw that right as we pulled on the Parkway to Lake Louise. About 10 minutes later we saw a brown bear with her two cubs. They were just hunting around looking for berries and other goodies to munch on. That was the first time I've seen a bear in the wild. That was so cool!! The kids loved it. I will try to post a picture of the bears some time soon.

He is doing good. He is starting to walk by himself some today. I stayed home one more day with him so we could work with him some more and he is starting to stretch and bend. I had him bend down to touch his shins. I don't know how much pain and I can tell how much pain he is feeling because I think he doesn't hurt enough to take the bitter tasting meds. We hope he can return to school by Thursday or Friday. He is still walking with quite a limp. That is to be expected.

Dianne and I would like to thank all of you for your nice comments, gifts, and prayers. Trey says, "I'm doing much better because everyone is praying for me."

It was frustraiting to watch other than that play. I wish that I could catch my brother-in-law play soon.

Dewey falls to 4 - 1 overall and 1 - 1 in district play.

Trey slept in my recliner and I slept on the couch. The couch isn't my bed but man it slept better than the chairs at the hospital. Dianne had the bed last night but she is still working on her cough with her cold (I watched Forrest Gump last night) and she was worried about Trey so she didn't rest all that well. She gets couch duty tonight so maybe she can sleep better knowing Trey is sleeping fine so she can rest. Plus Trey relieved me from couch duty because I snore too loud.

Sorry I didn't put the pictures on last night. I was too tired to do all that last night. I have a lot to do today so I am not sure I will get to it today or not.

Christi was so happy to see us yesterday. I went out to the yard to see her when Bryon and Tish brought her home. Daddy was just as happy to see his little girl as much as she was happy to see her Daddy. I scooped her up and she wrapped her arms and legs around me and just wanted to melt to me so she could never let me go. She started crying she was so happy. She is Daddy's girl! The easy going feeling for her quickly faded when she saw Trey. She didn't like that Trey got all the attentionn and was being waited on hand and foot. In her little 8 year old mind needed to start hurting some where so she could get some attention. It is hard for me to see Trey show his strenght by never complaining, pushing on through his pain, and not saying a word about how much it hurt. Christi was whining about her eye hurting. I as worn so thin on everything that I jumped on her that she really wasn't hurting all that much. She really doesn't understand all of this and that all the attention Trey is getting he would trade just to not hurt and walk around like she is. Thanks to everyone that has brought her presents to help her still feel included. In a different way she is going through this too and it is just as hard for her.

I am going to call the Dewey/Vinita game tonight. Dewey is currently ranked 9th while Vinita is ranked 6th. If Dewey can win this game they are almost a shoe in for the playoffs. Trey is excited to listen to the game. He is such a big fan of football he will watch or listen to any and all games as possible.

His big beautiful smile is starting to show again. He is feeling so good that he took a walk to the bathroom to use the toilet for the first time since Monday. We had to help him walk there but he did the business all by himself. Gross and TMI I know but it is a big step for him. He watched all of Price Is Right today. He hasn't felt like doing that or has been sleeping all week. Now every 5 minutes he'll read something from the book Come on Down: Behind the Big Doors of the Price Is Right. He got that book before the surgery on Monday. My sister gave him that book. He hasn't felt like reading it until today.

I have to go get his meds but other than that he is resting comfortable. I have to give up my recliner but that is okay.

Trey is available for viewing from now until 9:00pm. Time may vary without prior notification.

We still have to walk and we have the parting stuff for the exit of the hospital but we will soon be going home and that is most important. All in all it was a general hospital visit although no one died but then showed back up 20 years later because they were just in a coma but that is the days of our lives when we are the young and the restless. If you can't tell I am writting this while Dianne is watching her soaps. Blah!! Give me Sports Center 6 hours straight over soaps. But that is Dianne and me not Trey. Eventhough the site is about me this is deticated to Trey-be this week/month/year or however long it take for Trey to feel better and for me to get bored writting a blog.

The doc came in this morning around 8am and told us the good news about going home.

I was too tired this morning to post up so sorry about the late news today. I spent all night sleeping or trying to sleep in a chair. My neck hurts and my back I am sure will be stiff by tonight. Dianne has come down with the crud that had everyone sick a week or so ago. I thought she needed the rest more so than I did to help her get over this stuff.

I will put some pictures up this afternoon/evening when we download our camera to our PC. I'll try to have that on by 9 this evening.

Trey is wearing a Dartmouth Football shirt home today. Why Dartmouth? My best friend Jeremiah Palmer is attending Dartmouth and he and his wife sent us that shirt. Just another shirt? As Paul says in the Bible, "May it never be!" Jeremiah is battling leukemia right now and is cancer free! This shirt represents to me the will to fight, to acomplish something that others only dream of, and the will to face your giants all while following God's will. That is why he is wearing that shirt. Jeremiah is my other hero. I love you, Jeremiah and Trey. I hope that I can be as strong as you guys someday.

No visitors tonight except for my Dad and my sister. My Mom came earlier today.

The challenges we face now, the prayers for tonight are for Trey to be able to walk okay tonight, keep the meds down without throwing up, getting him to drink and take some food, and how Christi will handle everything once we get home. She can easily be overlooked right now and crush her. Trey can consume so much attention that Christi is normally left out or gets very little attention. We'll need help with her when we get back.

Trey likes them but balloons really bother him. His sister torments him with balloons so he doesn't care a whole lot for baloons.

Trey appreciates the the gift.

Trey was given flexareal to help with the cramps. So that helps him sleep too. The pain meds made him throw up and the anti-sick meds make him sleepy. All the boy wants to do is sleep but this nurse (Cratchet) wants to wake us all up. I've grown to not like her.

Trey's face is so swollen! I will post up pictures when I get home and if Trey agrees of course. I want to take away the pain and keep him still be it is unnatural to try to get him to move around.

YUCK!!! They just brought in "dinner" for him. They gave him blended cheese and broccoli soup. He' d' gag around forcing him to eat that even if he wasn't sick. There is no way I would make him try it.

Thanks for those of you that have posted up on the site. If you read through my site you might notice this is the most I've ever written to the site. More than double all of last year. Keep the postings comming.

About my last entry "Up and At 'Em". When I was little I always wondered why I was being called Adam - Up and Adam.

The doctor said that he'll stay tonight again tonight. Dianne ran home with my dad to get some clean change of clothes for us and to get chargers for our cell phones. She'll be bqck later.
